Pyramid Meffert (eng. Pyraminx), "Moldavian pyramid" or "Japanese tetrahedron" - a puzzle of a regular tetrahedron shape, similar to a Rubik's cube. Each face of the tetrahedron is divided into 9 right-angled triangles. The puzzle was invented and patented in 1972 (before the invention of the Rubik's cube) by the German Uwe Meffert. In the USSR, independently of Meffert, the tetrahedron was invented in 1981 by the Chisinau engineer A.A. Horde, for which the riddle is also called the "Moldovan pyramid".
