Classic o
ld early wood wooden racquet from famous Rhode Island maker; part of the famous TWENTY – THRITY – FORTY – FIFTY – SIXTY series from this maker.  Stunning banding and rich wood tones.

HEAD
: Classic period oval; stock is square at the shoulders and rounded as it goes around the top of the head; retains the what I think is original bright glow finish on the shaft and around the head; less than expected wear to the top of the head
WARPING
: none
FRAME:
excellent solid condition
THROAT WEDGE:
Concave wedge laminated in place in the style of the period
STRINGS
: probably replacements from 1940s or 1950s in green / white twist
BANDING
:  UNUSUAL: excellent condition as shown; celluloid bands with blue / green thread at the cheeks and very unusual red thread bands near the top of the head!

inches; first version black leather grip is applied over narrow shallow grooves in the combed bare wood grip.  The leather grip does not extend under the end cap leather strip so I think it was added in the 1930s
